MuleSoft Architect

Position Overview

seeking an experienced MuleSoft Architect to lead enterprise integration and API modernization initiatives. This role will be responsible for defining integration architecture, establishing API-led connectivity standards, and guiding the transformation of legacy monolithic applications into scalable microservices-based solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Mule 4, API architecture, integration patterns, cloud technologies, and enterprise-scale system integrations . This individual will serve as the technical lead for integration strategy, solution design, governance, and delivery across multiple business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Mule 4
• Define and govern API-led connectivity architecture , including Experience, Process, and System APIs
• Design scalable integration solutions supporting modernization from monolithic applications to microservices architectures
• Establish enterprise integration standards, reusable frameworks, and MuleSoft development best practices
• Develop architecture roadmaps and integration strategies aligned with business objectives
• Guide development teams through solution design, coding standards, security requirements, and deployment strategies
• Design integrations utilizing REST, SOAP, Event-Driven Architecture, Kafka, JMS, MQ, and asynchronous messaging patterns
• Architect deployment solutions across CloudHub, hybrid, on-premises, and containerized environments
• Ensure implementation of API security and enterprise governance standards, including OAuth2, JWT, SAML, WS-Security, and API management policies
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, infrastructure teams, and enterprise architects to deliver integration solutions
• Review technical designs, conduct architecture assessments, and provide recommendations for performance optimization and scalability
• Drive CI/CD adoption and DevOps best practices for MuleSoft delivery pipelines
• Mentor MuleSoft developers and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, integration diagrams, standards, and design artifacts

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of integration architecture and enterprise application integration experience
• 5+ years of hands-on MuleSoft experience with significant expertise in Mule 4
• Proven experience designing and implementing API-led connectivity architectures
• Strong expertise with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform , including:
  • API Manager
  • Exchange
  • Runtime Manager
  • CloudHub
  • Anypoint Monitoring
• Extensive experience with microservices architecture and digital transformation initiatives
• Strong knowledge of:
  • REST APIs
  • SOAP Web Services
  • DataWeave
  • XML
  • JSON
  • Java
• Experience designing enterprise messaging solutions using Kafka, MQ, JMS, or similar technologies
• Deep understanding of API security and authentication frameworks including OAuth2, JWT, SAML, and WS-Security
• Strong experience with Git, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies
• Experience with database integration, SQL development, stored procedures, views, and data modeling
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect and/or MuleSoft Developer Certification
• Experience integrating with SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, Workday, or other enterprise platforms
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture, EAI, and B2B integration frameworks
• Experience deploying solutions using Kubernetes, OpenShift, or container platforms
• Experience with public cloud environments including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Prior experience leading large-scale enterprise integration programs
• Experience establishing integration governance frameworks and API standards

• Define and deliver scalable, secure integration architecture across enterprise platforms
• Lead modernization initiatives from legacy systems to cloud-ready microservices ecosystems
• Improve API reuse, development efficiency, and integration reliability
• Establish governance standards that support long-term scalability and maintainability
• Serve as the technical authority for MuleSoft architecture and integration strategy across the organization

Target Profile: Senior MuleSoft Architect, Integration Architect, API Architect, Enterprise Integration Architect, or Principal MuleSoft Consultant with strong Mule 4 and API-led connectivity expertise.
