BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325+ clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond.
We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.
Summary:
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) offers exclusive Medical Assistant internship opportunities to University of Colorado pre-med students.This program is tailored to students in the last 6-18 months of their undergrad program andprovides hands-on clinical experience in outpatient care, training in electronic medical records (EMR), qualifies for academic course credit, and prepares students to work as fully trained Medical Assistants.
Interns primarily work in Primary Care settings, including Family Medicine and Internal Medicine, with additional exposure to medical and surgical outpatient clinics.
This internship requires a commitment of 10 hours per week during weekday business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) over a 6-18 month period. Interns have weekends and major holidays off.
