Position Overview Marine Technicians report to the Service Manager and play an essential role in the daily operations of our Service Department. You'll work on a wide variety of boats, engines, and marine systems while expanding your technical knowledge through hands-on experience and manufacturer-supported training. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot marine systems.
  • Remove, repair, and reinstall engines, transoms, and outdrives.
  • Disassemble units and inspect components for wear and damage.
  • Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical, and fuel systems.
  • Rebuild engine components, including cylinder blocks and outdrives.
  • Install and repair marine electronics and accessories.
  • Complete repairs efficiently using the service scheduling system.
  • Maintain current manufacturer certifications.
  • Participate in manufacturer training and certification programs (paid by Goodhue).
  • Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience servicing marine engines and systems.
  • Manufacturer certifications (Mercury, Volvo, Yamaha, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Education & Licensing
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a repair or service facility, or completion of a vocational/high school automotive or marine technology program.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Boater's License preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment.
Schedule
  • Five-day work week
  • Monday-Friday during the off-season
  • Weekend rotation during peak season
  • Overtime available
